NewsAlert
NewsAlert is a post from: Best Iphone Apps Review Website
I don’t consider myself a newshound, but I do like to be in the know. I keep an eye on Wiki trends, Twitter trends and get weather and breaking news updates by SMS.
Anytime a story about the iPhone or BlackBerry comes out, I want to know. Plus, there are artists, authors, and actors I’m a little ashamed to say I know more about than I probably should.
RSS feeds are a good way to stay on top of those tidbits and I have three such apps that I rotate among depending on the features included in their latest updates. But as good as RSS is, it’s a pain to have to mine through 1000+ articles to find that small handful of gems worth my time to read.
That’s where NewsAlert can be a handy app to have.
If an RSS app is a scalpel, cutting away extraneous stories of little interest to you, then NewsAlert is a high-powered laser allowing you to hone in on what truly matters. With it, you can specify by keyword (choose up to 10 keywords with the initial purchase cost, with the option to buy more) the news issues and topics you want to read about. Once a keyword is chosen, whenever a story with that keyword is released on the web, you’ll receive a notification.
The degree of customization is impressive. You can specify the news sources you don’t want to hear from, the times you want to receive push notifications as well as the total number you wish to receive in a day.
The app is simple to set up, does what it’s designed to do and quickly became a valuable resource. It allowed me to keep tabs on issues that don’t often break through the typical news cycle.
NewsAlert is currently on sale for $.99, so if you’re even slightly interested, snap it up now before the price returns to $2.99.

Body & Mind Connection
Body & Mind Connection is a post from: Best Iphone Apps Review Website
What you eat, how you exercise, and how well you sleep can have strong and sometimes unexpected influences on your energy, sleep, hunger, mood, and ability to control both your weight and stress levels. B Healthy U’s – Body & Mind Connection is designed to help you easily track these lifestyle factor interactions.
By making you aware of these relationships, Body & Mind Connection can and will help you reach your health and fitness goals. The tracking can be done in less than sixty seconds and the results can be seen in clear, easy to understand graphs that highlight the relationships.
As an example of how this works, with some people, insufficient sleep can wreak havoc with their appetites. For many people, engaging in vigorous exercise can tamp down their appetites. With many people, eating highly processed foods can create an uncontrollable hunger for more highly processed foods. However, all of these relationships vary greatly from individual to individual. By tracking your own lifestyle factors as they interact with each other, you will discover strategies that can help bring your hunger, stress, mood and lack of energy under control.
A unique feature of the app is its diet and exercise recommendations. The diet information comes from Dr. David Katz, head of the Yale University Prevention Research Center and a world authority in nutrition and weight management. He has studied thousands of diets and knows what works, both for health and for weight management. He knows the latest research and many of his tips are likely to be new to you.
The exercise recommendations come from Joe Decker, recognized as “The World’s Fittest Man“ after breaking the Guinness World Records 24-Hour Physical Fitness Challenge.
Encouragement and inspiration come directly from the program’s author, Mitzi Perdue. As Founder of Healthy U of Delmarva, she has spoken with thousands of participants and has seen the joy people have felt when they’ve lost weight, reclaimed their energy, are able to sleep well or have had their moods improve. However, she has also spoken with people so discouraged that they were ready to give up on life. Mitzi created this app because she has seen the positive difference it can make in a person’s life when they discover the tools to help them achieve their fitness goals.

Idea Stimulator – iPhone App Review
Idea Stimulator – iPhone App Review is a post from: Best Iphone Apps Review Website
Idea Stimulator ($0.99)
Version – 2.0
REVIEW – “Download this app to help get your ideas flowing!”
Every one of us find ourselves stumped for ideas at one time or
another. What do you do when you have writer’s block, or are having trouble deciding what to do next? How about trying a few simple exercises designed to get your creative juices flowing? Idea Stimulator is an app that
is designed to help you do just that! It has a simple interface and plenty of ways to help you stimulate your brain and get things done!
There are two versions of Idea Stimulator. One is free and has a few tips to help you out, but the full version with over 100 ways to help stimulate your mind is just $0.99! The apps themselves are extremely simple. When you open up Idea Stimulator you’ll see a list of different ways to help get your brain working. You can either select one from the list manually, or touch the “Trigger” button just below the list to have it randomly select one for you and open it!
Before you get started I read the information on the “info” screen by touching the button in the bottom right corner of the screen. This is
designed to give you an idea of how to use the ideas in this app effectively. What it basically says is that some of the ideas may sound a little weird, but what they are designed to do is snap you out of your current thought patterns! So even if it sounds silly at least give them a chance!
You’ll also find that there are several “articles” about creativity for you to read in the paid version of the app. These are quite a bit longer than just the quick idea starters, but are definitely interesting to browse through. Now I’m sure you’re
thinking that you could probably find this information somewhere on the internet for free. The thing is that when you are in need of an idea do you really want to wait on a web browser while you search the internet for idea-creating tips? If you are in the business of being creative this app will more than pay for itself!
If what you are looking for is a way to help your creative mind this app is an excellent investment. It manages to have plenty of good ideas on how to get your mind working while at the same time remaining so simple that it will never distract you and get you off your train of thought. I personally have already used this app a couple of times and it has been helpful. I look forward to continue using it in the future and you should too. At least check out the free version, it’s free! so what are you waiting for? It’s waiting for you in the App Store right now!

Fighting Fantasy: Deathtrap Dungeon
Fighting Fantasy: Deathtrap Dungeon is a post from: Best Iphone Apps Review Website

Fighting Fantasy: Deathtrap Dungeon ( $2.99)
Version 1.0
REVIEW – ” Choose your own Adventure comes to the iPhone in a whole new way.”
I remember the days when I was a kid and I would visit my grandmother and spend time reading old Choose Your Own Adventure books, I always thought they were immense fun. Fighting Fantasy: Deathtrap Dungeon is the second installment in the Fighting Fantasy series which is a choose your own adventure type story for the iPhone.
As one would expect this means that you are basically reading a novel and then being allowed to make choices about which way to go and what to do. Don’t expect great writing or even a great storyline but then that probably isn’t the reason why you would pick up this app.
After a few rather tedious pages of intro you get into the point where you finally get to start making decisions. The decisions you make can affect your character’s health (which is chosen by a roll of the dice when you start the game), and they can affect what tools you have and what potions you have access to.
But deciding whether to go right and left or whether or not to drink the contents of a vial, is not the only interaction you have with this story. When you come across an enemy you get to do actual battle with them. This is done in the way you would with most tabletop RPGs, simply with you and you enemy rolling the dice in order to find out how strong your attacks are.
The game warns you that you might not get very far at first and that you might need to take a few tries to get through and survive the game. I so far have not died but that isn’t to say that my character did not take quite a beating, and currently there is no end in sight.
The great thing about this app is that there is immense replay value because even if you survive all the way through, there is usually a way to do it better, and even if there isn’t, it is always fun to see the ways in which your character can die.
I think this is a great way to encourage to encourage kids to read, specifically young boys. There is some violence but so far nothing that is really inappropriate for preteen or teenage children. Adults might have fun with the concept as well but the writing and the story could be better, but that isn’t to say that the Choose Your Own Adventure books were ever brilliantly written.
The story focuses on the main character (you) who has decided to enter the Trial of Champions for the mere fact that no one has ever survived and you are one cocky hero who thinks you can succeed over all others.
This is the second in the series but I was easily able to understand and get through the story even though I had no previous experience in the series.
