Sometimes the apps in the App Store are so pedantic that one cannot help but wonder how they got so popular.  Cupcakes! allows the user to simulate the creation of a set of cupcakes without actually using a kitchen and then simulate eating them.

The price of Fingerzilla has been briefly reduced to zero and has shot to the top of the App Store most-downloaded list for free apps as a result.  Who wouldn’t want destroy a city with their finger?  It’s like taking Pocket God to the next level.

What can one say about yet another Hangman game in the App Store?  Well, this one is free.

It has three themes that one can choose the hangman from (Flower, Doodle and Christmas, with probably more on the way).  It has excellent animation and with every correct word a new scene is drawn in for variety.

überClock is yet another good idea that doesn’t quite work out in execution.  The idea behind it is that while the iPhone or iPod Touch comes with a built-in clock and alarm system, it doesn’t really emulate a bedside alarm clock.  überClock does, sort of.
