Now you can bring the fun of Glow Doodle anywhere with this unique app. The popular children’s art form has been brought to the iPhone in a way that truly allows everyone, even adults, to let their creativity loose.

Using Glow Doodle is incredibly simple and for that reason it is perfect for children. You are given a black screen and all you have to do is choose the color you wish to draw with and let your imagination run wild.

You have the option of four basic colors. There is no eraser which I found frustrating at times but there is an undo button so that you can try and fix any mistakes you make.

The bright colors make a nice contrast against the black and will create stunning pictures, but that is only half the fun of this app. All you have to do is tap the Glow button and it is as if someone turned on the lights behind the picture and really made the drawing glow.

You can click the save button to save your masterpiece into your photo library but the quality leaves something to be desired.

I think this is a fun and interesting app and it has been making great strides in the app store, so much so that it has been repeatedly copied. Personally I think it could use a few more features (like being able to import other pictures as a background or having an eraser) in order to really make it worthwhile.

But in any case it will be great fun for kids and adults may not mind toying around with it as well.

REVIEW – “A simple app that allows you to create E-cards with your iPhone.”

This app heralds the ability to make custom E-cards for any occasion but the actual truth is slightly more limited. Easy Greetings allows you to choose a background, characters and a phrase to add to your cards.

The user interface is simple to use and if the app had more options it would be worthwhile but sadly it does not. No matter which category you choose, your options are sadly limited.

With the backgrounds you have a choice of plain colors, some fantasy backgrounds or Christmas designs. This leaves basically Valentines and Christmas the only holidays given any special notice with backgrounds.

Going to characters gives you a hodgepodge of simple but cute characters that are likely to bring a smile to your recipients face but they may not exactly fit together in any meaningful way.

Greetings is reduced to various forms of Thank You,Miss You, I Love You, Merry Christmas and To Mom, To Dad. There is no way to add your own text to the image which is very annoying considering this app claims to allow you to create custom greetings.

There is another section called accessories which allows you to add various objects and shapes. There isn’t a very big selection here either but like everything else it is a good start.

To resize the images all you have to do is double click them and a menu comes up. This also allows you to flip the images if you desire. The back thing is that some of the images will become distorted if you try to modify them too much from their original shape.

Then once you move toward doing something with your finished image your only choice is through email, no text messaging or even being able to save it to your iPhone.

All in all this app is a decent start and with some extensive updates it might not be a half bad app. Right now it feels a little lacking especially considering it is a paid app.

Doodling apps have become quite popular for the iPhone and each one includes their own set of features. iCanSketchIt is a very basic doodling app but what it does include are two games which might just improve your finger sketching skills.

The app includes a basic set of colors with two types of brushes and you can adjust the size of the brushes. That is really all it offers as a drawing app. But for those looking to improve their finger sketching skills there are two extra features which might be well worth the money.

The first is precision drawing, this gives you a drawing and then asks you to recreate it. You are told to memorize the picture and then sketch it as best as you can. If you forget you are allowed a peek or two. As one might expect the levels start off easy but then gradually increase in difficulty. With enough practice you’ll be learning how to make perfect circles and squares, and then even more complicated pictures in no time.

The other feature is Speed. This allows you to see a picture and then try to recreate it as fast as possible. You results might not be as pretty in this round but the closer they are and the faster you complete it the more points you get.

Now the game is set up to work with OpenFeint so that you can compare high scores and compete to see who has the best drawing skills.

There are eighty levels to compete at in order to improve your drawing skills, and as they say, practice makes perfect.

You can also save your sketches to the photo album so that you can track and remember your progress.
