All-In Pedometer a Great Fitness Aide

All-In Pedometer a Great Fitness Aide is a post from: Best Iphone Apps Review Website

All-In Pedometer is a fairly comprehensive exercise app that is a great companion for keeping track of workout statistics.
The pedometer functions really well and gives a pretty accurate readout when it is placed in a pocket. The best feature is that the screen can be locked from within All-In Pedometer so you don’t have to worry about your pocket closing the app or dialing a friend. Unfortunately unlocking the screen is not as smooth as the main iPhone screen – it takes a delicate touch to slide the bar open.
The meter menu contains the ongoing count of steps with distance, calories burned, time and speed information. You can even set a specific goal just for one workout.
Another ambitious feature is the inclusion of music playing right from within All-In Pedometer. You can import songs and create playlists to listen to while working out. However, the playlists do not yet make use of iOS4’s multitasking capabilities; when the app is closed the music stops. An inclusion of multitasking would allow for more flexibility to work in other apps while keeping track of steps.
If the pedometer does not seem to be accurately measure your steps then try the calibration feature which allows for adjusting the sensitivity.
While the pedometer dominates the feature set, there are plenty of other options that make All-In Pedometer ideal for managing one’s workout regimen and goal setting. For example the “Body” tab can be used for tracking changes to the chest, waist, hips, and weight. These statistics can all be tracked over time. The history tab brings up data about the past workouts. The app also includes some pretty comprehensive weight loss advice, workout tips and a user manual for dissecting all of All-In Pedometer’s features.
There is a sharing feature spread throughout All-In Pedometer so it is easy to send out accomplishments through Twitter, Facebook or by email. With all the features you may find yourself wanting to share with friends how ripped you have become.

Mr. Giggle Offers Tetris-Like Play

Mr. Giggle Offers Tetris-Like Play is a post from: Best Iphone Apps Review Website

mr-giggle-ipadMr. Giggle is a very fun and addictive game that plays well on the iPhone but is even better with the extra screen real estate on the iPad.

Mr. Giggle is a universal app, meaning that with one purchase it can be downloaded and played on either an iPad, iPhone or iPod touch.

Much like Tetris, the object is to manipulate a group of colored shapes to clear the screen. However, unlike Tetris the shapes are all snarky squares that either smile or frown depending on their mood. By swiping on the rows and columns the squares can be moved around and eliminated by matching them with like colors.

From the main screen you can access the various settings by tapping on one of four icons. A tool icon brings up the settings menu, which allows for setting the game timer for one, two, or three minutes. This is how long you will have to (…)

The Impossible Game – It So Is

The Impossible Game – It So Is is a post from: Best Iphone Apps Review Website

impossible game iphoneFinally, a game that completely lives up to its name. The Impossible Game is exactly what it sounds like.

Well, OK, while “impossible” may seem like a strong word, “improbable” or “really, really hard” doesn’t have the same ring to it. Besides, for someone with slow reaction time, The Impossible Game is pretty much just that – impossible. Of course, it won’t be as if you actually believe it’s an impossible game. And even if you do, you’ll keep trying to beat it.

The Impossible Game got its start as an Xbox Live Indie game and is now available for iPhone and Touch. To access the original Xbox Live version, simply beat the first level on practice mode. Waaaaaaaay easier said than done. As evidenced by my 141st attempt, the Impossible Game is no easy game to navigate. It’s a simple enough concept – tap to jump once, hold to repeatedly jump — no problem. (…)

Word Droppings – Funny Name, Fun Game

Word Droppings – Funny Name, Fun Game is a post from: Best Iphone Apps Review Website

word droppings iphoneDon’t worry, it’s not in your eye, it’s with an I and an E, O, U and sometimes Y. Word Droppings is a word building game played by tapping letters to form words, which as expected, scores you points. You can compete against yourself to advance through 75 different levels or play online against other players or Facebook and Twitter friends. While by no means my favorite word formation game ever, Word Droppings has some unique features that keep the game interesting, fun and is by no means “crappy.”

Falling like pigeon poop in the city, Word Droppings features random letters that scroll from top to bottom. Simply tap the letters in a sequence that forms a three or more letter word. Letters don’t have to be next to one another to use, so all letters on the screen are fair game. There are two bonus tiles that appear – a bomb and a snake. The golden snake is worth bonus points just for tapping, but the bomb will subtract points if it reaches the bottom of the screen. To avoid losing points, simply detonate the bomb by spelling a word before it hits bottom.

One of the more intuitive features of Word Droppings is the ability to control the scrolling speed of the letters by tilting your iPhone. Tilt it up to make the letters fall faster, tilt it back to slow them down. This is an apt strategy if you are looking for a particular letter to complete a word. (…)
