Review – “Prank calling taken to a whole new level!”

Whether you’re prank calling people, or you just want to freak out a friend apparently “there’s an app for that!” Funny Call is an app that allows you to alter the sound of your voice when you make a phone call from within the app. The app is free to try out and then has several different price points that you can buy more minutes at.

When you open the app, you’ll start out at the main screen. There are a variety of different “voices” that you can choose from. Once you’ve selected a voice, the app actually starts out in “preview” mode so you can hear what it sounds like on your own voice! The app also tells you that you need to use headphones to get the best results.

Once you’ve got your voice ready and you’re ready to make a call just touch the “Place a Call” button at the bottom of the screen. When you do you’ll see a dialer on the screen. In the upper right corner of the screen is a “Contacts” button that will allow you to dial anyone from your contacts list.

I found that the phone call’s from this app took a little bit longer than a typical call to connect. The calls were definitely high quality though, and there were no noticeable glitches in the audio once I was connected. At any time you can go back to the voice select screen by touching the “Effects” button in the lower right corner of the screen!

The variety of voices in this app is also a good selling point. There are a ton of different voices from “Creepy,” and “Low” to voices like “Chipmunk,” and “Cyborgs”. My favorite voice was probably the “Creepy” voice, but there are several other good ones to choose from.

While I would recommend this app to anyone just to try out, it can get pricey very quickly if you choose to buy more minutes and continue to use it. Currently minutes are selling for $0.99 for 3, 4.99 for 30 minutes and $9.99 for 60 minutes! With that said, the app is free to try, and the true prankster within may just find that it’s worth it in the long run!

Touch Chaos (0.99)

Review – “Find out just how fast your fingers can be!”

If you’re looking for a good way to get used to touching exactly where you want to on your iPhone you may want to check out Touch Chaos. The basic idea is that you see randomly colored balls flying around the screen, and you have have to touch certain colors as quickly as possible. It may sound simple, but as you get further in, and the balls get more active it gets pretty crazy!

The main menu when you open up Touch Chaos is really simple. There are three buttons: Play, Scores, and Tutorial. The tutorial is just a text-based explanation of how to play the game. To be honest though most people wouldn’t even need it because the game itself is extremely simple.

Once you’re ready to get started just touch the “Play” button. You’ll be taken to a blank screen with 3 or 4 balls on it to start with. Around the edge of this screen there will be a border that is the color of one or more of the balls on the screen. Your objective is to touch all of the balls that are the same color as the border. Be careful though because the border does change quite frequently!

For every ball that you touch correctly you get points. If you touch a ball that is the wrong color it will turn black and start counting down from 5. If you do not touch that ball within 5 seconds then it will explode and you lose. You will also randomly see black balls like this fly in from the edge of the scree and you’ll need to make sure that they don’t explode either!

At the very beginning there are not very many balls and they all move pretty slowly, but that changes very quickly! In the upper left corner of the screen you’ll see a number that represents how many points you’ve accumulated in your current game, and in the upper right corner you’ll see what level you’re currently on.

When you finish a game you’ll see a summary of your performance. It shows you your score, level, how many balls you touched, how many times you missed and your Accuracy! From this screen you can choose to play again or go back to the menu.

One thing that I would really like to see added to this game is some kind of global high-scores feature. While it is definitely fun to compete against yourself and to see how high you can score, it’s hard to beat human competition! With that said, the high score feature is pretty simple and it keeps track of your scores quite well!

Overall this game is just a lot of fun, and best of all it’s the kind of game that you can really pick up and play for just a few minutes! Whether you’re looking for a quick game to pass some time, or you just want to work on your touch accuracy, I’d encourage you to give Touch Chaos a look. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised!
