Move the phone from side to side and watch as he slips and slides to the flick of your wrist. Other talking pet apps can be quite poor when there is background noise. The BillyGoat Quiz – iPhone App Review
The BillyGoat Quiz – iPhone App Review is a post from: Best Iphone Apps Review Website
The BillyGoat Quiz ($0.99)
Version – 1.1
Review – “Teach your brain to think outside the box!”
If you enjoy things that make you think then there is a good chance you’ll find “The BillyGoat Quiz” to be a lot of fun! The basic idea is that you are timed and given a certain amount of attempts to solve a series of puzzles. Some of them are fairly simple, while
others are designed to trick you into thinking the answer is something different.
When you open up the game you are asked if you’d like to sign into your OpenFeint account. In case you’re not familiar with OpenFeint it is a social gaming platform that allows you to see what games your friends are playing and compare your scores with them and the rest of the world!
Once you set your OpenFeint settings it will automatically log you into the account you chose when you
star the game. The main screen that you start at has 4 different buttons. In the lower left corner is a button to access the OpenFeint network and your settings. The lower right corner will take you to the developers website where you can find more information about the game and who created it.
The button on the left in the middle of the screen will take you directly to the global high scores list and the one to the right of it will start a new game. Once you start a game the timer will start immediately. The first time you play it though you won’t want to pay too much attention to it because you’ll need to figure out the various puzzles.
In order to be included on the global high score list you’ll need to complete the entire game. The puzzles are exactly the same every time you play but it
took me quite a few tries to figure them all out. Some of them are simple things like telling you to press a button. Others will give you a list of instructions that you have to memorize and complete or even tell do something in the instructions box while other tells you to do something else!
While a game like this is not going to be worth $4 or $5 because of it’s limited nature, it does manage to offer a little bit of replay value by having the high score list oncer you finally figure out all the puzzles. For $0.99 I can say that I would recommend this game to someone that enjoys figuring out puzzles and definitely to someone that loves competition. So what are you waiting for? Download it today and see if you’re fast enough to beat my high score of 168.1 seconds!

In the Incident, you play an everyman with a problem: heavy things keep dropping in your general vicinity. Your only chance to make it end it is to climb up the pile of objects until you reach the source and put a stop to the shenanigans. That thankless task — climbing higher and higher on a constant pile of falling detritus — is the sole goal of The Incident. Luckily, it’s also a whole lot of fun.
You control the hero by tilting the device left and right, and jump him by tapping. It’s simple and controls well, which means that you can quickly get to the job of staying alive. Like another popular jumping game out there, Doodle Jump, the premise is so simple that if anything in the game were poorly executed, it could easily be called repetitive — dodge, jump, jump, dodge, grab a coin, jump. But The Incident does such a good job of keeping you on your toes, watching all corners of the screen, and scrambling for precious power-ups, that its simple premise is practically addictive.
The first few levels ramp up nicely, so that by the time things get really hectic, you’ll be well versed in the art of dodging and jumping. Along the way you’re earning enough extra lives that you’ll probably never run out, and hitting frequent checkpoints so that you can hold onto your progress. There are only eight total levels, beginning on the street and ending in space, but each level packs enough challenge to make it feel like plenty of game.
The Incident’s 8-bit style helps in that it’s clean and well-executed. There’s a large variety of pixelated, brightly-colored objects being thrown at you, many of them eliciting a little smile the first time they appear — everything from taxis and sofas to Egyptian sarcophagi, garden gnomes, and Easter Island statues. There are not so many that you’ll never see a repeat, but there are enough to keep the pile interesting. And when you die, you’re granted a little death trophy of the object that killed you; “Death by Midcentury-Modern Door at 575m” is quite a way to go.
Any complaints about the Incident are minor. The aforementioned small number of levels is a limitation on replayability, and the lack of any online leaderboards or other competitive components will disappoint some. And yes, if the core game play doesn’t appeal to you, you’ll get bored very quickly, as they’re nothing else to the game but jump, jump, dodge, jump. But none of these are significant drawbacks.
There’s something sweet about seeing a simple concept executed well. The Incident is a great game that offers up a fun time with well-crafted retro sensibilities, and it’s sure to appeal to a lot of iOS gamers. Download it today.

Developer Art in Games tosses its hat into the tried and true top-down shooter genre with AirAttack HD, the iPad version of its recently released iPhone game. This WWII-flavored affair is high on action and graphics, if a bit light on depth.
AirAttack HD puts you in control of a WWI-inspired fighter plane fighting a Nazi-flavored horde across eight different levels. As you go, you’ll face waves of planes, ground assault units, lightning towers, dirigibles, and even enemy UFOs. You also have to bomb ground targets like hangers, bridges, and oil wells.
There’s a lot that goes right with this game. It’s a bolder, faster paced game than many top-down shooters, with plenty of enemies flying at you from all sides. It’s also more chaotic — no amount of fancy flying is going to prevent you from being shot as enemies appear from all sides firing volleys of bullets, missiles, and even more exotic munitions. That’s okay, though, because your lives are more or less unlimited, although you will occasionally find yourself kicked back to a checkpoint. Said checkpoints are also where you can purchase temporary power-ups, like wingmen and homing missiles.
By default, you control your plane by touching the screen and dragging. This can be awkward on the iPad, but luckily Art in Games has also provided tilt, joypad, and relative touch control options. Of these, I enjoyed the tilt and relative touch controls the most (the joypad is a bit too small and unresponsive). Everyone should be able to find a scheme that works for them.
The whole thing is presented with sharp graphics and animations. Enemies swoop and dive, shadows streak across the ground, and UFOs wobble a bit (as UFOs are wont to do). It all looks really slick, and combined with a driving soundtrack and good game play, you’ll find yourself having a good amount of fun.
My biggest complaint about AirAttack HD is that, while I enjoyed myself when I was playing the game, it was not an experience that lingered. The game is fast and bright and crazy, but shallow enough that I kind of forgot about it after a few days. In other words, it’s not the kind of game that’s going to stick with you when you’re done. And with only 8 levels of play, that time will be over fairly quickly.
So ultimately, AirAttack HD is a fun but somewhat forgettable game. At 99 cents, though, it’s a much better buy than many other games you could score for that price, especially on the iPad. It’s worth checking out.

Spiderly HD – iPad App Review
Spiderly HD – iPad App Review is a post from: Best Iphone Apps Review Website
Spiderly HD ($0.99)
Version – 1.0
Review – “Stop the invading spiders!”
If you’re looking for a game that is simple to learn but almost impossible to master you might want to check out Spiderly HD. The basic game concept is keeping the falling spiders from invading the house at the bottom of the screen. You do this by scaring them away and eating them!
The basic concept sounds simple, but it quickly gets more complex. On the first level there are only one color of spiders so you only need one bird. As you progress through the game there will be up to 4 different colors of spiders falling from the sky
and you will have to eat them with a bird that matches their color!
As you get even further into the game you’ll start to notice clouds that block your vision, and storm clouds that can actually change the color of the
spiders that are falling! This can be especially frustrating if you have several spiders that are almost to the bottom of the screen and they change color!
The final twist that is thrown at you is a bomb that will roll across the bottom of the screen. The bomb is a random color and when you touch it all of the spiders of that color will be destroyed at the same time! While it may be tempting
to touch it as soon as it enters the screen, oftentimes waiting just a few seconds will yield much better results.
While the gameplay itself is very fun and hectic, the competitive drive within me started wishing that there was some type of score tracking, or at
least a more competitive nature to the game. You are allowed to let two spiders across without failing a level, but this does not regenerate when you win a round. It does reset when you lose though, and there are really no consequences to losing because you can retry as many times as you want.
In summary, if you just looking for a challenge and little distraction then you might want to check out Spiderly HD. If, however, you are very competitive and like to compete for high scores this game may not interest you as much as most. With that said there is a Lite version of this app if you’d like to try it out before you buy it, so what are you waiting for? Head to the App Store and check it out for yourself today.

Virtual Air Hockey – iPhone App Review
Virtual Air Hockey – iPhone App Review is a post from: Best Iphone Apps Review Website
Virtual Air Hockey ($0.99)
Version – 1.0.1
Review – “Air Hockey done right on iOS”
I remember way back when the App Store opened that one of the games to quickly emerge (in several different variants) was Air Hockey. Over the last couple of years I’ve played several different Air Hockey games, some good and some bad. The one thing that seems to be universal is that they are difficult to make playable on the small screen of the iPhone. This is one of the first
games that I’ve seen that fixes that problem with a 3D table, and it is a lot of fun!
When you open up Virtual Air Hockey one of the first things you’ll want to do is link it to your OpenFeint account if you have one already. If you don’t, it’s easy to set one up. OpenFeint is a great way track achievements/see who else is online and playing the same games as you are!
The main menu screen a few simple buttons with a demo of the game playing in the background. It’s a very nice effect, and is pulled off quite well. There are three buttons in the main menu: “Play,” “Options,” and “OpenFeint.”
The options menu is fairly basic. You can select the amount of goals that your game will be to (3, 5, or 7), how difficult your computer opponent is, the game volume, and one other attribute called “Paddle Offset.” The Paddle offset makes it easier to see what’s going
on while you play by placing the paddle just above where you are holding your finger. You can set the offset anywhere from 0 to 20.
Once you actually get into the game itself the controls are very simple. Wherever you touch on the screen your paddle will be there. Just like Air Hockey in real life the object is to hit the puck into your opponents goal and to protect your own goal. For the most part the controls are fairly smooth, although it is a little jerky occasionally if you move around too quickly.
While the graphics are amazing and the controls are very simple, I do have a couple of small gripes about this app. The first thing that’s missing is the ability to pick up your paddle and place it on top of the puck
to grab it and move it around. The other thing is that the puck sometimes seems to fly off of your paddle even when you don’t hit it very far. It doesn’t happen all of the time though, and I was able to adjust to it pretty quickly.
One other thing that I’ve seen in some other games that is missing from this one is the ability to play multiplayer. With the 3D perspective it would be hard to do multiplayer on the same device, but it would have been nice to see either a wifi or bluetooth multiplayer mode. With that said, a lot of multiplayer modes
that I’ve seen in games like this lag too much to really be fun anyway.
Another really great thing about this game in particular is that it looks great on both the iPhone and iPad. By purchasing just this one universal app you can play it full screen on any of your iOS devices including the iPad! Not only that but the app is also $0.99!
If you’re looking for a game that’s easy to pick up for just a few minutes and play, this one is both fast-paced and fun. It is especially enjyoable for people that like completing achievements because there are a ton of them! But don’t just take my word for it, check it out for yourself in the App Store today!
