Friday Night Movie Night: 2009 Best Apple iPhone Costume Ever!
Friday Night Movie Night: 2009 Best Apple iPhone Costume Ever! is a post from: Best Iphone App Review Website
Since it’s Halloween, I thought this might be appropriate. Actually this is amazing and hilarious. The screens actually work live with the iPhone. Check the info after the video for specs.
TAMPA, FLA., Reko Rivera (Left) John Savio (Right) — World’s first award winning “working” iPhone costume created by Reko Rivera and John Savio. Specifications are 42″ Display, 1.5 Hours of Battery Life, 85 lb and the “real” iPhone can charge connected to the USB on the display. The two costumes have 3 batteries each with a total runtime of 4.5 hours before needing to be charged overnight. Please email us if you need any more information about the costume.
BACKSTORY — This all started two years ago Reko Rivera and Bobby Hartman created a wearable large iPhone costume with a real 37″ lcd tv. An iPod was attached with a looping video of a real iphones screen in normal use. This time with the help of John Savio and John Matthews the team created yet another amazing rendition of the new iPhone 3GS. Savio loved the original idea but wanted to take it to the next level and make it thinner and actually work with user input! With some heavy researching and some solid determination Savio finally found a solution. He managed to modify the software on the iPhone to allow a live dual image output to the large 42″ lcd tv while maintaining the image in landscape mode. Reko originally came up with the idea and really pushed to see his vision come to life two years ago. This year John and Reko plan to compete in most of the local and online contest to win back all the money they invested in the costumes. The team has about $2000 into the two costumes and has no regrets!
App Sale: Styx Halloween

Styx Halloween is on sale for free – normally $2.99
The further you go, the more different kinds of Halloween faces you have to contend with
Styx Halloween is one of those match 3 games where you run your finger across matching units that are either touching or diagonal from each other. I guess that technically makes it a “match as many as you can” game and the combination of great graphics and tons of powerups makes this a pretty fun Halloween diversion!
The game comes with three modes: Chains, Time Trial, and Puzzle. Chains and Time Trial are both very similar in that your goal is to find as many chains as possible, and Puzzle forces you to figure out how to eliminate groups of Halloween icons in the right order so that no individual pieces are leftover.
EMV Software built in a global scoreboard and made Styx Halloween iPod-friendly, so I’d advise you to go get this app while it’s still free! The App Store page says this game is on sale for 2 days only, and the price went down 2 days ago, so it may go back to its original $2.99 price any minute now.

Crazy Cool Halloween Costume Alternatives From MouthOff
Crazy Cool Halloween Costume Alternatives From MouthOff is a post from: Best Iphone App Review Website
You poor iDork (term of endearment for individuals who are obsessed with the iPhone … like us) … Halloween is just three days away and you got nothing. No costume, no pumpkin, no love – nothing. Sure you could dress up as Dr. Richard Head or Nurse Connie Lingus … but come on, you’re an iDork … go large or go home! Plop down $1,000 … rig up a 42-inch LCD TV and be a giant working iPhone.
Now we understand if a grand is a bit steep … and if the cash doesn’t kill you, the weight of this puppy will. Each giant working iPhone weighs 85 pounds … not exactly mobile friendly. So you could be cardboard cutout iPhone dude. It’s cheap, lightweight …. but unfortunately looks like total crap.
So if you’re still in that Halloween costume rut, turn to ustwo … the developers of the MouthOff [iTunes] app. As the video below illustrates, these guys are completely insane … but there is a method to their madness. With the 99 cents MouthOff app and two rolls of toilet paper, you’ll be transformed into an uber-cool MouthOff Mummy.
Plus MouthOff includes a Hell-oween update which includes four new Halloween-themed mouths for your ghoulish delights.
Now if rain is in the forecast for your area on Halloween, obviously the toilet paper MouthOff Mummy will look crappier than cardboard cutout iPhone dude. But no fear … there’s a safe alternative that’s equally crazy cool … MouthOff Pumpkin-Head.

I’ve never been a huge fan of apps that show a mouth that you hold in front of your face, but I have to admit that ustwo has put together a pretty good app here! I mean, if you’re gonna replace your mouth with your iPhone, you might as well do it with MouthOff.
When you hold this app over your face and start talking, your selected mouth will react to your iPhone’s mic and move along with you. Naturally this means that if you have an iPod Touch you’ll need a headset & mic to get that effect… imagine what a jackass you’ll look like… but it can be done!
MouthOff comes equipped with no less than 41 mouths created by a group of top-notch illustrators. Four “Hell-oween” mouths are included along with 12 “Signature” mouths and 25 Original mouths. Show-offs can make a MouthOff video by uploading your silliness to YouTube and tagging it with the word showusyourmouthoff and your video will appear on the ustwo website.
If you’re looking for a way to incorporate your iPhone into a Halloween costume this weekend, this might be the way to go!

GhostWriter
GhostWriter is a post from: Best Iphone App Review Website

Scrawling evil messages across photos in blood is soooo messy! GhostWriter will do it for you, and after you take your photo it’ll even throw in some Ghoulish Miasma if you want it to.
Ghoulish Miasma is really just some weird-looking orange fog that you probably won’t want on very many of your pics (don’t worry, it’s optional), but the spooky fonts comes in two varieties, Angered Spirit and Blood Writ, and they ain’t bad. GhostWriter comes with six innocent default messages that you can select individually or at random, and if you want to really damn someone to hell you can type in your own custom message! Sweet.
The thing this app does that’s a little different is that, after you take a pic, the app will fade the text and Miasma in slowly while it plays a Halloween sound effect. This feature may not sound like much, but I guess it adds a little something to that moment of unbridled excitement when you first show the pic to whoever just said ‘Cheese’ for you. The animation and sound are strictly in-app, but the pic you just took can be saved or emailed with a quick tap.
If this app has one major shortcoming it’s the inability to apply the Ghost Writing to camera roll pics! You’d think this very basic feature would be included, yet “Take Picture” is the only option available. What this means is that you need to set your text (unless you’re cool with going random) before you take the pic. If you’re not satisfied with the bloody text that gets automatically applied to the pic you just took, then you gotta do the photo again and listen to everyone groan while you go into Settings to choose or type in the text you want.
Hopefully Cute Logic will remedy this with a future update, but until that happens all I can say is Buyer Beware! What GhostWriter currently does, it does well, but I think the omission of the apply-to-pics-already-taken feature is going to be a dealbreaker with a lot of Halloween partygoers and trick-or-treaters.

iPhone App Review – Chainsaw Massacre
iPhone App Review – Chainsaw Massacre is a post from: Best Iphone App Review Website

Chainsaw Massacre (Free)
REVIEW- “Scare off all your friends with a bloody chainsaw nightmare…”
If you are a lover of horror movies, slasher flicks, vampire movies, and especially Texas Chainsaw Massacre, you will love this app! Scare your friends and family with a bloody chainsaw and chase them away. This is a great app for anyone who wants to pull a scary prank on their closest friends and family, or strangers if you really want to scare them off. It’s very easy to use the app, just pull back on the iPhone to get the chainsaw roaring! If you aren’t tugging or pulling hard enough, encouraging bloody words will help get you motivated to really crank that phone back and get the prank started. Once I started the chainsaw, I was impressed with how loud the app was and how they added the vibrations to make the chainsaw seem more realistic to its owner. I liked the interface of the app, it was your classic bloody red background with a scary girl off to the side.
I would have liked some scary background music to go along with this app and make it even scarier. I definitely will be holding onto this app until Halloween, and think this will definitely come in handy around that time. I would have also liked if there was a button to stop sawing, because I had to exit the app or else it would have kept going and wasting my battery! Overall, I was impressed with the realistic sounds of the chainsaw and think that this app did a great job at replicating the horror and fear of a slasher app. The controls were easy to get a hold of and the app does what it says it does. I would recommend this app to any prankster or horror movie fan who wants to scare anyone and everyone.

Treat Street
Treat Street is a post from: Best Iphone App Review Website

Need a diversion to keep the toddlers busy? Treat Street should fit the bill, for this week anyway!
Treat Street is a painfully cute trick-or-treating game where the goal is the same as in real life: ring a lot of doorbells and accumulate as much candy as you possibly can. There’s no score to keep and no possible way to lose… except for the rare occasion when a mean neighbor gives you something weird like an insect instead of candy.
You start off by choosing your costume with a 3-piece mix & match costume builder, and while you’re making your way down the neverending street you can check out your loot with the candy bag icon in the bottom right of the screen.
This is Elf Farm’s first release and they’re off to a great start with this very nicely made app. The game concept is super simple by design but the artwork and production values are awesome, and if it keeps your kids quiet for five minutes then it’s a dollar well spent.

Considering it is around Halloween, I thought it right to snoop around some of the ghoulishly themes applications. I came across this one and gave it a go. After-all it is actually one of the staff picks in the app store.
Hallowcarver
Hallowcarver is a post from: Best Iphone App Review Website

Well, if you’re gonna carve a pumpkin on your iPhone you might as well do it with Hallowcarver! I’ve only tried one other pumpkin carving app (Jack O’Lantern) and this one is waaaaay way better.
WNRS (We’re Not Rocket Scientists) went pretty nuts on this app and made it as slick as can be. Four different backgrounds are included, you get to choose from three different pumpkins, you can undo (nice!), and not only can you post your pumpkin to Twitter and Facebook but you can also share your creations on the Hallowcarver website! Cool. You can even change your background and pumpkin type in mid-carve.
A lot of developers seem to half-ass it on seasonal apps like this one, so I think it’s awesome when one goes all the way like this and really builds something worthwhile. You might delete Hallowcarver on November 1st, but this app has a lot of quality for a buck.
P.S. Carving a kickass pumpkin can win you an iPod Touch!
