Are you in school studying for your MBA and still searching for that perfect study aid to help you with completely your degree? If that fits your description then you may find Pocket MBA Full Course (Part 1) an app would reading about.

This app is developed by Intersog and is similar to taking a course at your own pace. It is really nice, clean, in depth, and does a great job of offering something for different learning styles.

First of all you’ll notice when you launch the app that it has a great interface to it. It defaults to the main menu, which lists out the different courses that you can choose from, with a brief summary of each one. From here you will pick the subject you are interested in studying and proceed to Launch that course.

Once you choose and go into a course you’ll see it’s even broken down into chapters. After that it goes into pre-course expectations, which I think is great, so you will know what to expect to learn from each chapter. In addition, if you look along the bottom you’ll see that they offer the chapter in modes to read the text, study through flash cards, and even to take an exam.

A few things worth noting about this app ..

1. You can bookmark your progress or just any sections you would like to refer back to.

2. You can search for topics throughout the app through a handy search button.

3. There’s a handy glossary (specific to the application) so you can look up new words quickly and easily as you encounter them).

4. The app is quick, smooth, really clean, and just overall very nicely laid out. You can tell the developer put a lot of time into fine tuning this application.

My thoughts? If you’re studying for your MBA and need a great tool to give you that motivation and push to do well then this app is definitely worth looking at. Yes, it’s pricey but so is your education, right? Those Master’s classes aren’t cheap, trust me I know!

If doing well and not repeating courses is important to you then this app may be worth the investment. It’s very nice, seems very in depth, and may be what you need to give your education that extra boost, so check it out in the App Store today!

US Immigration FAQ is pretty much exactly what it says it is. A handy guide to all of the rules for visiting or immigrating to the US. The information contained in this App is current (as of the last update) and informative for anyone wishing to learn more about the policies and procedures for traveling to the USA – for business or pleasure. Actually, the section on Business travelers is probably what is going to be the most popular, this is a fantastic guide for people who travel often, or who are looking for information on the go about this topic. While most of the Business section deals with immigrating for investing, some of it does cover regular business trips as well.

In fact, this App covers almost all eventualities when it comes to obtaining visas and work permits, residence and green cards. The overall topics contained within are;

And each section contains many chapters about the specific procedures, forms and documents unique to each situation.

The information is provided in a very readable format – and contrary to some legal or government documents which can get confusing, its laid out in a way that will give you all the information you need based on your specific situation and needs.

Of course, this is also a fantastic tool for students who are learning immigration law and procedures. While not heavy on the legal aspect of things, it does provide easy to understand directions and details that can be used as a great study-guide.

While the App is laid out really well, and is easy to navigate I found it unfortunate that it wasn’t lacking a couple of features that would make it much more useful for business people and students alike. 1) Highlighting certain passages. This would be a wonderful way to come back to something you particularly wanted to remember like form information, or a particularly important procedure that you just learned about. If not that, then at least, 2) Bookmarks – to flag certain chapters within sections. As this App is so comprehensive it can get difficult to remember “where did I read that particular thing about student visa limitations?”, having your own bookmarks page would be wonderful.

Other than those to criticisms I think that if you’re looking for a handy guide to quickly look up immigration info, this is it. There aren’t many others on the App store, so while it might be one of your only options, at least it’s informative and well written. Try it out, via the link below.

This app is just like its name – straight to the point.

Finance Study Guide, designed by Good Mark’s Study Guides, is aimed at students and business professionals who want a quick resource for basic financial information.

I say “basic”, but take that with a grain of salt. I’m no financial expert, and a lot of the material this app provides is new stuff for me. However, the language is clear, without any confusing jargon, and within the first few minutes I learned quite a bit of new information.

What I do understand is what makes a good educational app – a user-friendly format and clear purpose. And Finance Study Guide gets an A on both. There are five menus to choose from at the bottom; Study Guide, Questions, Exercises, Formulas, and Definitions. The Study Guide is split into several categories, a few of which have their own sub-categories. The definitions, graphs and formulas provided are easy to understand and perfect as a study aid right before an exam.

Questions is a great way to quiz yourself – read the question, guess the answer, then tap “next” to see if you were right. The Exercises sections is also helpful, providing real situations for you to analyze. For example: you are given a scenario with investment information, and asked to figure out what the company’s balance sheet would look like at the end of the first period.

Many of the categories in the Study Guide contain formulas, of course – this is finance, after all. The Formulas section lists each one, perfect for a last minute cram session or as a quick reference. And the Definitions section is set up alphabetically – tap “L” to see the definitions of terms like “Lead Manager” and “Leverage Effect.”

I’ve seen a few study guides in the past that supply great info, but it’s not nearly as easy to navigate as Finance Study Guide. The bottom line? If you’re taking a finance class, this $2.99 investment is one definitely worth making.

Finance Study Guide requires iPhone OS 3.1.2 or later and is compatible with the iPhone and iPod Touch.
