Agendus Conveniently Compiles All Organizational Necessities

Keeping track of tasks, appointments and events is a chore itself. Birthdays, holidays, errands, projects, due dates, meetings – the list goes on and on. And while many iPhone and iPod Touch applications attempt to satisfy one or all of your organizational needs, finding something that fits your lifestyle can be hit or miss.
With Agendus by iambic, Inc., you just may have a hit on your hands. Not only does Agendus provide users with an application that helps sync their calendars, tasks and contacts, but it also adds a few unique touches that make this award-winning personal information manager (PIM) fun and informative as well as useful.
When you first start up Agendus, you will be asked a few questions, such as whether you’d like to receive Push notifications, if you’d like Agendus to use your current location, and if you would like to sync with Google Calendar. If you have a Google account and maintain your calendar, simply enter your account’s login information and Agendus will immediately sync your existing calendar with the application itself via the Internet and over-the-air synchronization.
By allowing Agendus to detect your current location, users will gain access to the 7-day weather forecast right on their ‘Today’ page, which is both the first tab and your starting page. Your ‘Today’ page will also display the day’s date, that day’s events and tasks, as well as your “Quote of the Day” and “This Day in History” entry, making Agendus stand out above any other organizer application I have come upon to date. These unique characteristics make Agendus seem user friendly from the start, while many other such organizers appear daunting and confusing.
The next tab over marks your ‘Calendar’ page, which allows you five different views. When users view their Calendar in Day view, they see every task, event or appointment they may have that day listed according to the time it is set to occur. List view allows users to see all the events they have planned for the given month. Week view looks much like that of an old homework assignment notepad, allowing you to see what you have planned for every day of that particular week. Month view will show dots under each day that has something scheduled. When you tap on the day, you will see each event listed underneath the calendar listed in chronological order. Year view is similar, except you are able to see every month on one page.
(Note: Each tab displays a ‘+’ icon in the top right which allows users to add a new item to their lists quickly and easily at any time.)
The ‘Tasks’ tab, of course, displays any tasks you need to complete. Tap the ‘Task Filter’ button in the top left corner and you will see that you can categorize and separate your task list according to the item’s status (In Progress, Completed, etc.), the item’s priority (Low, Medium, High), the item’s category (Business, Personal), or by which items are due within a certain time frame. An easy-to-understand icon marks each categorization, keeping the list neat and tidy.
Using the ‘Contacts’ tab, users can access their entire phonebook’s list of contacts without ever having to leave Agendus as the information is automatically linked. Here, users can view their contacts in the traditional view, in picture mode (name and number displayed next to their photo if one already exists), or in birthday view (names with birthdays attached listed chronologically according to upcoming dates).
Under the ‘Preferences’ tab, users can edit how they view each individual tab, as well as general and specific settings for every characteristic offered. Users may even buy more icons to use when labeling their many tasks and events. Best of all, users can watch a video tutorial (if they did not when prompted upon startup) that outlines how to use each tab to the fullest extent. And though most everything about Agendus is purely intuitive, such an aid proves that this application’s only agenda is to truly ease the burden of a busy life.
Agendus requires iPhone OS 3.0 or later and is compatible with iPhone and iPod Touch.

TapDo has a lot of potential as a well designed task manager that provides quick entry and easy to use input. There are a significant number of issues that need to be addressed before it can really stand out as a task management app though.
TapDo provides a fairly steep learning curve for adjusting options, but pre-programmed entries provide a good tool to use as an example. To effectively use TapDo, users must take the time to really cater the settings to fit their lifestyle. I found the examples provided to really fail to meet any part of my planning needs. Once programmed though, TapDo was much more usable overall. Programming the app is an extensive undertaking though.
To further complicate the situation, there is no easy method to add custom tasks without added effort. Rather then just allow for individual inputs for each task, users must customize categories for the task to fit inside. This adds to the difficulty for users to interact with this app right out of the box.
One of the nice features of this task oriented app is the searching and sorting features. Daily, already completed, and overdue items can all be searched, and entries can be sorted by date, priority, or group. New entries, once the app is fully customized, can be completed in no time at all.
Overall I would say that this app is an OK first shot, but automatic date input, an easier customizable interface, and more detailed examples would provide users with some much needed enhancements. I’ve not really found a task manager that will really fit my needs quite yet, and as we get closer to the new addition in the family, it’s becoming more and more something I am looking into. In it’s current iteration, TapDo isn’t that app, but I have hope that it has the capability to step up with a little attention.

Diary Lite a ‘D-Lite’ to Use Daily
Diary Lite a ‘D-Lite’ to Use Daily is a post from: Best Iphone Apps Review Website
Price: $0.99 Score: 9/10 By Anna P.![]()
Life is hectic. This is a fact that simply cannot be denied. But when it comes to organizing our lives, the last thing we want is an agenda book or calendar that is more complex and intense than our lives. That’s the exact problem we’re trying to solve! With Diary Lite by Diary.com Ltd, users gain access to the cleanest, easiest, all-in-one application they could possibly imagine.
Like a neatly packaged gift, Diary Lite is combines your agenda, tasks and journal in one convenient package. Designed to help both plan and record your life, Diary Lite’s simplicity is unexplainably enticing. As an old school, paper and pen kind of gal, I mostly appreciate organizational apps from afar but am rarely able to invest all of my thoughts and reminders in my “usually” reliable device. However, I was immediately drawn to Diary Lite’s clean color scheme, layout and ease of use. Never have I ever come across one app that encompasses every organizational tool one might need so seamlessly, as if all these related aspects of life actually CAN coexist without getting the wires in one’s brain crossed and fried.
Users begin on the ‘Agenda’ tab upon first start up of Diary Lite. Tap the ‘+’ icon in the top right corner to begin adding events to your calendar. Add or edit single events, birthdays and anniversaries. Just choose your category and enter the required information. By setting a reminder for each occasion, users are guaranteed to have Diary Lite alert them when the date is approaching.
Enter your tasks in the same way you would enter an event using the ‘Tasks’ tab. Once again, use the ‘+’ icon to enter your information. Tasks also include reminders so you can benefit from the convenient pop up alerts that help you keep on top of the pressing tasks that can sometimes weigh you down.
Finally, the ‘Journal’ tab allows you to do just that – keep a journal. Write journal entries that document specific moments or events from your day that you don’t want to forget. In this case, the ‘+’ icon will immediately direct you to a blank entry template where you can start recording your thoughts right away. The journal, by Diary.com, works offline so you don’t need an Internet connection, or even a Diary.com account, to write your entries.
Plus, when you consider that you are only paying $.99 for an app that encompasses three key functions that are normally sold separately, it’s almost like hitting the jackpot. A really attractive jackpot, at that.
Diary Lite requires iPhone OS 3.0 or later and is compatible with the iPhone and iPod Touch. A small fee was paid by the developer to expedite the publication of this review.

Daily Deeds ($.99)
Version 1.0
REVIEW – “Develop new habits with the help of the iPhone!”
All of us have that laundry list of things we need to or at least should be getting done on a daily basis. Daily Deeds allows you to keep track of everything you could possibly have on your list and it will also keep track of how well you do at getting them done when you are supposed to.
Now this isn’t your basic to-do list in that it is not about one time chores or things you really should consider doing tomorrow or next weekend. It is all about encouraging you to form habits. So you simply add a habit you want to create for yourself, such as remembering to take your vitamins or to get in that required 8 glasses of water.
Then you simply click the large circle next to that habit once you have done it for the day. The app will then keep track in a calendar view how many times you accomplished that habit, and hopefully it will become second nature.
The app also gives you a little ticker that keeps track of how many of your deeds you have accomplished since the last time you zeroed out. So you can keep track of daily and even weekly totals on the main screen if you so choose.
Now this app is remarkably simple with very few bells and whistles and that may be part of what makes it great. Though for some of us push reminders might be nice but they are not really necessary.
The app can also send you an email report of your deeds in case you are that particular about knowing how well you are doing and keeping up with your goals.
This is a great little app that almost lets you keep score in your attempt to establish a new habit or to just get into a new routine. While I like the idea of the app and the fact that truly anyone can figure out how to use it in a matter of seconds, I’m still not sure if I know anyone anal enough to really appreciate the fact that it creates PDF reports of your progress.
