Travel Interpreter an Excellent Translation Tool is a post from: Best Iphone Apps Review Website

travel-interpreter-iphoneTravel Interpreter adds to the arsenal of apps for international travel with access to many of the key phrases one may need.

Most likely the language you are looking for will be here, as choices include Spanish, French, Chinese, Arabic, Italian and Hebrew (23 in total). After selecting a language the categories are then divided by specific topics; such as hotel, shopping or beauty care. There is even a section detailing how to call the police and describe particular crimes.

After picking a category there are sub-categories that get a bit more specific. After selecting one of these, tap on a phrase. Travel Interpreter includes audio of the phrase, an illustration of its meaning and the text (for some languages, such as Arabic, it is also written in phonetic English). ROK Lingo Translation

($0.99 – Limited Time)

Version 2
Review – “Multi Language Translator that speaks your translations, easy to use.”

App developer: Rok Media
Website: http://www.rokent.com/

ROK Media has created a simple but very useful App that translates any text into several languages and recites them aloud on your iPhone for traveling, communication, business – you name it.

ROK Translate 1 200x300 ROK Lingo Translation iPhone App ReviewThis App could not be simpler. Insert your text on top, select which language to translate it into and the text appears below, with the option to hear the App speak it to you. The languages included in version 2 are English, French, Spanish, German, Turkish and Catalan.

From what I could tell each Language had its own built-in female voice that read the translated text, however because I’m not as fluent in French or Spanish as I’d like to be, I couldn’t really tell if the pronunciations were correct or not. It’s probably safe to assume that a native speaker would be able to figure out what you are saying by you mimicking the voice – or you could always play the audio for whomever you’re trying to communicate with. Although, you could always show them the translated text as well. So there’s a multitude of uses for this program.

ROK Translate 2 200x300 ROK Lingo Translation iPhone App Review

An addition use that I didn’t realize until much later was that English is one of the included Languages that you can Translate to. Meaning, that if you find some street sign, instructions, or information in one of the supported languages you can translate it back to English with this App too.

ROK Translate 3 200x300 ROK Lingo Translation iPhone App Review

Also, fantastic news for speakers of the other languages, because this is the perfect App for traveling to English Speaking countries – the audio speaking voice of the English Speaker is crystal clear – as good as any Text to Audio I’ve ever heard.

Right now Rok has the Lingo Translation App on sale for 1/2 off – only $0.99 so you should pick it up while now, while it’s still cheap. You never know when you’ll need it, especially if you travel often!

Messagey! ($0.99)

Version – 2.2

Review – “Text for free from your iDevice!”

One of my favorite things about my iPhone is the texting Messagey 1 200x300 Messagey! iPhone App Reviewapplication. It makes it extremely easy to keep track of your conversations with individuals, and with iOS4 it’s very quick to switch to it and then back to whatever you were doing before. With that said the cost of texting can add up quickly, and is not even available if you just have an iPod Touch. Whatever your situation Messagey! is coming to your rescue!

! is an app that will allow you to send and receive text messages on any device running iOS. It offers a variety of features, including push Messagey 2 200x300 Messagey! iPhone App Reviewnotifications and a unique interface that makes switching between conversations even faster!

When you open up Messagey! for the first time you’ll be asked if you want to use it in “Messagey!” mode or in “Classic” mode. I would recommend that you at least try the Messagey! mode. Classic mode will basically behave like the built-in Messages app, while Messagey! mode will allow you to switch between conversations by swiping side to side!

Once you decide what mode to use you’ll also need to sign up for a messagey account. This will allow you to both send messages and also receive them on your device. The process for signing up is fairly quick, and I didn’t have any problems with it myself.

Once you get everything set up you’ll be greeted by the main screen. To add a new conversation all you Messagey 3 200x300 Messagey! iPhone App Reviewhave to do is touch the “+” button at the top of the screen. This will bring up a pop-up window with a list of all your contacts to choose from.

Once you choose a contact to start a conversation with you’ll notice that the name of that contact will show up in the bar at the top of the screen. This is the bar that you will use to switch between conversations. To switch conversations all you have to do is drag that same bar to the left or the right.

While the core of this app is nice, what really sets it off is the customization of it. If you touch the settings button in the lower left corner of the screen you’ll have the ability to do all kindsMessagey 4 200x300 Messagey! iPhone App Review of things. One really nice feature is the ability to have messages from others with Messagey! automatically forwarded to the app when it recognizes your email address or phone number.

Another cool feature is the ability to turn the background of the app into Messagey 5 200x300 Messagey! iPhone App Reviewwhatever your camera sees. This makes it possible for you to type text messages or emails while you’re still paying attention to what’s in front of you!

There are two ways to go with this app, free and paid. The free version of the app has a limit of 30 text messages a day and is ad-supported. If you want to get rid of these limitations you can do so by paying either $0.99 a year or $1.99 for a lifetime subscription!

While this obviously isn’t as deeply integrated into the iPhone as the Messages app it can be a great way to save some money!  The texts do go through through fairly quickly as well, but there is a little bit of a delay occasionally.  With that said, this is still really a must have though app for iPod Touch users as it can add texting to your device for free! Whether you own an iPhone, an iPod touch, or even an iPad you should at least give this app a look because it is hard to beat free!  You may find that you like it even more than you thought you would!

MyWorld – iPhone App Review

MyWorld ($1.99)
Version 1.4.1
Review – “Tag, Sync, Share and GeoTag your Albums”

App developer: TamDev Productions
Website: http://tamdev.net/

myworld 3 200x300 MyWorld iPhone App ReviewMyWorld is an App which allows you to store and share your Photos by location. Using integrated GPS location you can set an album to a particular destination and upload photos directly to your Facebook or Flickr account albums.

It sounds pretty simple, and it is, but this App is a phenomenal convenience for organizing photos from any special occasion by location. You start by opening a new Album – you can either select a location on the Map or have the App find your location directly. Within your Album you can add photos, audio or video (depending on your device) and have all of the media in one simple folder for that particular location or event.

myworld 1 200x300 MyWorld iPhone App Review

myworld 5 200x300 MyWorld iPhone App ReviewWhere this App really shines in the integration with Sharing and Social Media. Firstly, Bump is integrated into both the Map view as well as the album sharing page – so you can easily Bump your albums to another MyWorld iPhone user. Couldn’t be easier. However, if you want to simply post your pics via Facebook, Twitter or Flickr – that’s available too. You add the authorizations within each album and every time you update your album, it’ll update the social media site of your choice, or you can send specific media items individually! I tried my own with Flickr and was impressed that it uploaded quickly, creating a specific set within my photofeed for this Album.

Something else you might not expect but is a very smart inclusion is the ability to Email the media directly or also including a KML (Google Earth) File. Or, if you want to keep it simple you can copy and send the Google Maps shortcut URL created for your album, also listed on the sharing screen.

Finally you can maintain a list of the people who are either in the photos, or were with you at the time by including them directly from your iPhone Contact List or manually entering them.

myworld 2 200x300 MyWorld iPhone App ReviewThe only drawback I could find while I was testing out the App is that to add the media to each album you have to add one photo at a time – which can be bothersome if you’re create the album after the event. I was trying to group together a bunch of photos I had taken about a year ago but gave up after the fifth or sixth because it was taking so long. If there is an option to import many photos into the album at once, I did not find it, and hopefully if this isn’t an feature now, it will be included soon.

This App could have many uses – not only as an organization for events and places. If you’re interested in keeping track of the location of where your photos were taken for whatever reason, you should seriously consider getting MyWorld. It’s well designed and full of sharing features that you might not find on other Photo Album Apps.

AmpliTube iRig will be shipping soon!

AmpliTube iRig will be shipping soon! is a post from: Best Iphone Apps Review Website

IK Multimedia has come up with a great solution for mobile guitarists. They have released an app called “AmpliTube,” and they are preparing to start shipping an accessory to allow you to plug your guitar into your iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad.

The iRig hardware will cost $39.99 and is scheduled to start shipping the first week of July.   The accompanying AmpliTube app comes in 3 different versions which vary from Free to $19.99. The more you pay the more effects and amp models you will get in the app. If you don’t want to pay the full $19.99 but have a couple of pedals you’d like you can also buy them individually via in-app purchases!

IK Multimedia was kind enough to send me a unit before they actually start shipping them at the beginning of next month, and I was blown away! If you’re as excited as I was hearing this news you’ll want to check out my full review and thoughts at http://www.appshouter.com/amplitube-iphone-and-ipad-app-review!

mTrip Offers A Fresh Take On The Traditional Travel App

mTrip Offers A Fresh Take On The Traditional Travel App is a post from: Best Iphone Apps Review Website

While there are hundreds of travel and city guide apps for iPhone, it looks like mTrip will blow them away with its unique spin on the traditional tour guide app.

While mTrip offers users the default sightseeing tips and direction tools for a location, it goes one step further helping users plan their trip itinerary. Better than that, the app can even create an itinerary for you based on your preferences, trip duration and accommodations. Daily schedules can be edited at the user’s discretion and the app is even intelligent enough to list attractions based on their opening hours and proximity to the user.

Once you arrive at your destination you can make use of augmented reality to see where sites are in relation to your current location as well as point out restaurants, bars, hotels and other points of interest. Travelers can also swap tips on locations via the app by adding notes and viewing those of others.

All of these features make mTrip a very useful and fully featured tool but its ability to function offline is the real jewel in its crown. Your itinerary can be customized and reworked without an internet connection and augmented reality also functions in the absence of a network. Pretty much the only feature that requires the internet is the fun little postcard tool that allows users to send messages to friends from their vacation via email or Facebook.

mTrip travel guides are currently available for London, Paris, Amsterdan, Berlin, Rome, Barcelona, New York, San Francisco and Chicago in a choice of five languages. Many more locations are also planned with more information available here.

If you’re heading to one of the above locations, tack another $5.99 on to the cost of your trip for the ultimate travel experience and do it quickly before the app returns to its regular price of $9.99

Review – “Feature Rich, Flight Info – A Must Have for travelers.”

App developer: FlightView
Wesbite: www.flightview.com

I go on vacation pretty once a year, and when I do, my mother is obsessed with watching the progression of my flight, especially on my return flight as she is usually in charge of picking me up at the airport. If you travel more often the likelihood of you having some one wanting to keep tabs on your flights is much higher, luckily Flight View is a solution to having mobile info about any flights.

Flight View 1 200x300 Flight View iPhone App Review

I think that most people may already be familiar with the website version, but now earlier this month, FlightView launched an App with many of the same features, information and updates, only directly for your iPhone, and it’s fantastic.

Flight View 2 200x300 Flight View iPhone App Review

This App is Feature Rich. Let’s start with finding the flights you want to track. Of course you could could simply add the airline (by name or airline code) and flight number, but I’m very impressed that it also includes the option to search for flights.

Flight View 7 200x300 Flight View iPhone App Review

You will have to be connected to the Internet for this, but within this search you can find flights via city or airport search and date of departure, it will give you a full list of flights on that route.

This is handy for two reasons, obviously if you don’t know the exact flight details, but also if you wanted to actually look for a flight in the next few days to somewhere, it includes all airlines on that route including departure and arrival times.

Flight View 8 200x300 Flight View iPhone App Review

Once you’ve selected your flight, you can save it and begin getting real-time data about it. You can check if an upcoming departure is postponed, you can find out the arrival and terminal information, and (personally this is my favorite feature) watch the flight in map-view. Again, you do need an Internet connection to get current flight information obviously, but once saved the basic details of any flight are viewable anytime.

Flight View 4 200x300 Flight View iPhone App ReviewFlight View 3 200x300 Flight View iPhone App Review

Flight View 5 200x300 Flight View iPhone App Review

Another unexpected but very helpful feature as seen below, is that it offers real-time information about flight delays at airports, nationwide, on a map, even.

I can’t imagine how useful this would be for business travelers, and family members of anyone taking flights. Even if this App did nothing more than import and save your flight information it would be worth the price, only $0.99, unbelievable. I highly recommend his App, even if you onion fly a few times a year it would be incredibly useful. This is one of those Apps I would have never thought to look for, but will always keep handy, try it out!
