An alarm clock app is arguably one of the most important apps you’ll use — if it doesn’t work, you miss important events. It’s also the first thing you’ll see in the morning, and often your first stop for basic information such as the weather. Alarm Clock Connect is yet another candidate in this massive field, and while it lacks the curious, psuedo-scientific features of apps like Sleep Cycle Alarm Clock, it delivers a basic, sleek alarm clock with plenty of extra information packed into one manageable package.

Alarm Clock Connect wakes you up according to the alarms you specify (multiple alarms are supported, naturally). You can pick a song, a default sound, repeat frequency, and add a note. Individual alarms can be saved and switched on and off as necessary.

The extra features, however, are Alarm Clock Connect’s real strength. By flicking through the panes you can check the weather, control your music, view your calendar events, and scroll through your Facebook or Twitter feeds. The app always remembers what pane you were viewing, so you can always wake up to the weather, for example. None of these features are revolutionary, but it’s nice to have a simple app that delivers basic-but-important information.

The app itself works fairly well. Sometimes it suffers from lag, but closing and re-opening the app usually solves that. My biggest complaint is the app’s lack of full background support…apparently you need it to leave Alarm Clock Connect running for the alarm to really work. Local notifications are sent if the app is closed, but those are hardly disruptive enough to awaken a heavy sleeper. It’s not a dealbreaker, but the battery drain may be annoying.

Alarm Clock Connect isn’t some mind-blowing new technology—but it doesn’t need to be. Instead, it delivers a sleek, visually appealing alarm clock with support for all the necessities. For many of us, that’s exactly what we need.

Review – “A great app for homebuyers and homeowners looking to refinance!”

Whether you’re looking to buy a new house, or you’re looking at refinancing a property, wouldn’t it be great to be able to figure out what a loan would look like anywhere on your phone? Well now you can Mortgage Calculator The Amortizer 1 200x300 Mortgage Calculator The Amortizer iPhone App Reviewwith a $0.99 app called “Mortgage Calculator – The Amortizer” for the iOS!

The app itself is pretty simple. To calculate the costs of a loan just touch the “+” button in the upper right corner of the screen and fill out the information that you see on the screen.  Mortgage Calculator The Amortizer 2 200x300 Mortgage Calculator The Amortizer iPhone App ReviewYou’ll need to enter the purchase amount, down payment, interest rate, loan term, etc., and then touch the “Calculate” button in the upper right corner of the screen to figure out the costs associated with the proposed loan.

In addition to calculating the actual mortgage cost, you can also add in your escrow as well to get a more accurate number. To do that just touch the “Add Escrow Cost” button at the bottom of the loan information screen. You can then enter in each cost that is a part of your escrow individually, or you can add the total amount of your current escrow if you choose.

The loan breakdown that you get once you’ve calculated it offers a variety of interesting information. It Mortgage Calculator The Amortizer 3 200x300 Mortgage Calculator The Amortizer iPhone App Reviewcalculates the total interest that you’ll pay on the loan, the total amount that you will pay on the loan if it goes as scheduled, and a breakdown of how much you will pay each month towardsMortgage Calculator The Amortizer 4 200x300 Mortgage Calculator The Amortizer iPhone App Review the interest and principal of the loan!

Another great feature of the app is the ability to generate PDF’s of the loan information and email them to anyone! To do this just touch the “Email PDF” button in the upper right corner of the screen. You’ll get the choice of whether or not to include the amortization schedule or not, and then you’ll be taken directly to a form email with the PDF attached to it.

My personal experience with this app is that it made it very easy to get quick figures on what a loan will cost you. Unfortunately what it does not have is a way to calculate what it will cost you to refinance a loan. With that said, the app is only $0.99, and the PDF email feature is a great way to share loan figures with people while on the go. I’d encourage you to head to app store and check it out for yourself today!

Audio Class Notes Free

Version – 1.0

Review – “Take notes the easy way for free!”

Audio Class Notes Free 1 200x300 Audio Class Notes Free iPhone App ReviewI found that one of the most irritating things in college was trying to keep up with some of my professors taking notes. There’s just so much information in some classes that sometimes it’s hard to decide what you need to write down. If you have one of those classes you may want to check out Audio Class Notes Free on your iPhone or iPod Touch!

When you open up the app the first thing you’ll see is a menu with three options. You can “Record a new file,” “Play A Recorded File,” or view and edit preferences in the “Options” menu. Inside the options menu you’ll see buttons to select the recording quality, Audio Class Notes Free 2 200x300 Audio Class Notes Free iPhone App Reviewremove all data from the app, and to add/remove “Classes” which is how all of your recordings are organized!

Once you’re ready to start recording you’ll need to make sure you’ve set up the class that you’re recording notes for, and then touch the “Record a new file” button. To start recording just touch the “Record” button in the upper left corner. At any time you can pause recording, or when you’re finished just touch the stop button stop and save it. You’ll be asked for a name for the recording, and if you don’t give it one then it will be named “Recording #?”.

Once you’ve recorded your class notes to review them later just touch the “Play A Recorded File” button. You’ll be given a list of all the files that you currently have. You can remove items from the list by swiping and touching the “Delete” button that Audio Class Notes Free 3 200x300 Audio Class Notes Free iPhone App Reviewcomes up, or by touching the “Delete Mode” button in the lower right corner and using the “-” buttons to the left of the recordings.

To play a recording just touch it and you’ll open the the playback screen. From here you can not only listen to your recordings, but you can also tag certain parts so that you can quickly find them later. This is extremely easy to do, my only comment would be that there really needs to be a way to delete “tags” just in case you add Audio Class Notes Free 4 200x300 Audio Class Notes Free iPhone App Reviewone in a place where you didn’t want it, or you named it wrong.

All things aside this is a very useful app, and I was very impressed with how well this app was able to pick up people’s voices, even at a distance. Best of all though it’s totally free! The only thing you’ll have to deal with are the ads that you see at the top of the screen. They are not obtrusive though, and if you choose to view them they are Apple’s new “iAds” so you don’t have to leave the app to check them out!

If you’ve been looking for a voice recording app similar to this one, there is no reason that you shouldn’t at least give this a try. While there may be apps out there with a few extra “bells and whistles,” it is very doubtful that you’ll be able to find a better, easier to use app than this one for free. So what are you waiting for? Click the link below and check it out for yourself today!

Direct Closer – Quickly Close Multitasking Apps

Direct Closer – Quickly Close Multitasking Apps is a post from: Best Iphone Apps Review Website

Available In: Cydia       Price: Free

Direct Closer Direct Closer is a simple little hack that, when you double-tap the Home Button to get to the multitasking apps, it automatically puts them into “wiggle” mode so they can be removed. Normally, you would have to double-tap the Home Button and then tap and hold an icon in the multitasking dock in order to get the apps into “wiggle” mode so that they can be removed. This app just makes this process a little faster by automatically putting them in “wiggle” mode. However, in order to switch to another app (using the multitasking dock), you have to tap the Home Button once to turn off the “wiggle” mode and then tap the app you would like to switch too. So, depending on how you use your multitasking dock… this app might not be for you. … [visit site to read more]

Night Stand HD Review

Night Stand HD Review is a post from: Best Iphone Apps Review Website

Developer: Spoonjuice
Price: $1.99
Version: 1.5

Design Rating: 5 out of 5 stars
Features Rating: 2.75 out of 5 stars
Integration Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

Overall Rating: 4.25 out of 5 stars

Night Stand HD is a customizable clock and alarm, focusing on a minimalist design that presents time and weather. There are eight different clocks to get you started: Analog, a custom-coloured analog time presenter; Binary, an advanced clock that presents the time in binary style; Classic LED; Flip; LCD, which is also colour customizable; Milk; World Clock, providing six different clocks in analog format; and Nixie. All clocks can be used in both portrait and landscape mode.

Although most of the themes present the same style of data, the styling and colour schemes are sufficiently different to warrant using them. For colour customizable themes, the choice is not limited to block colours, but rather an entire pallet. This is presented with a scroller, allowing you to choose the colour that most suits your taste.

All clocks present the time (in one format or another), weather in a specific city and can work as an alarm clock. The alarm features an optionally-enabled snooze button, at time periods of 5, 10, 15 or 30 minutes. There are a number of in-built sounds which, in my opinion, are not particularly suitable or pleasant as an alarm clock with the exception of ‘Spring.’ You can, however, choose songs from the iPod application to ease you into your day a bit more smoothly. There’s also the reverse of an alarm – music to put you to sleep (or to listen to while you sleep) – which will turn the app off at a customizable time of 5, 15, 30, 60 or 120 minutes after you close the settings menu. Global clock settings provide you with options to show seconds, the day of the week, when the week starts and whether or not you prefer 24-hour time. Night Stand HD also includes abuilt in stop watch with a futuristic but clean design.

Overall, I’m impressed with what Night Stand HD offers. However, I’d like to see a bit more from this application – like choosing colours by HEX code, the ability to display the date, and having colours that change throughout the day. Not all clocks are colour customizable when, in my opinion, they should be. Given the fact that this application is most likely going to be used at night, it was also surprising to see no brightness option. Most surprisingly, there is no quick way to have an alarm that repeats itself each day of the week – you have to manually add an alarm for Monday through to Sunday, and only then can each alarm repeat itself. Oddly, my evening alarms had their time presented in morning format (eg 0649 for 1849).

Nonetheless, Night Stand HD makes the iPad functional and useful even when you aren’t using it. It’s good to look at, easy to use, minimalist in its design and great for what it does.

iPhone App Review: 1-Click Flashlight

iPhone App Review: 1-Click Flashlight is a post from: Best Iphone Apps Review Website

One of the most surprisingly useful things my iPhone 4 has is an LED flash. It’s actually terrible as a flash, but I really quickly found myself opening the camera app in order to use the flash as a flashlight. It was only a matter of time before flashlight apps started springing up on the app store.

One app in particular I like is 1-Click Flashlight, a stripped-down flashlight app that does one thing and does it to perfection: give you light.

The LED light comes on within seconds after tapping the icon, and a tap to the otherwise black screen brings up a big blue button. You may think touching the blue button turns the light off but no, you would be wrong. Depressing the blue button causes the LED light to strobe, for the occasional impromptu rave.

This is the app, folks. Touch that and you got strobe.

Those of you with toddlers also know that a strobe effect is always a big hit, though be careful. Strobes are known to trigger seizures in those that are susceptible.

One of the subtly brilliant things about this app is that it does NOT have an off button, and the reason why is that the iPhone hardware already includes one: the home button. Rather than waste screen real estate or user-interface overhead on drawing an off button, the developers just put the built-in feature of iOS to work for them. When you quit the app, the light turns off.

Another small but priceless feature is that the app retains the strobe state when you quit, so if you left it in strobe mode it will be in strobe mode when you start the app again. I’m not sure why you need an LED strobe light so much but hey, there it is.

I should point out that this app replaced my previous flashlight app of choice, which in comparison had a screen cluttered with graphics, buttons, and useless information; and it didn’t really offer anything beyond what this one does.

All in all, 1-Click Flashlight is a terrific slimmed-down flashlight app that doesn’t waste resources on giving you things you don’t need.

This is a great app for monitoring the App Store. Something the is missing from the actual App Store. Being able to keep an eye on certain apps that you may find a little pricey, and know when there are going on sale, is a terrific feature, that will probably never be included by Apple. The “Changes and Updates at a glance” feature is great, if you’re interested in knowing what has recently been updated, or want to ignore updates and focus on new releases only. Seeing as this app is free, there is no reason we cannot recommend this app.
